W&S Plastics upholds international standards of excellence in advanced manufacturing, with operations spanning two countries, Australia and Malaysia. Our sites in Sydney and Johor work together closely, sharing technology, expertise, and a common commitment to productivity, precision, and cleanliness.

Our facilities demonstrate the strength of our global operations and commitment to delivering advanced plastics manufacturing solutions, supported by corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

This article showcases how our Malaysian site has grown into a hub of innovation, quality, and capability, serving both regional and international markets.

Advanced capabilities to meet diverse needs

Today, W&S Plastics Malaysia offers customers a comprehensive suite of services across both plastic injection moulding and post-moulding processes. The facility provides advanced manufacturing capabilities, including pad printing, screen printing, hot foil printing, ultrasonic welding, sonic fastener insertion, vibration welding, laser engraving, packaging, two-shot moulding, automated assembly, and heat staking.

Uncompromising Quality Standards

Quality is at the heart of every aspect of our work. Our Malaysian facility conducts a wide range of product tests to ensure the highest performance and reliability. These include electrical continuity testing, bespoke electronic testing, leak testing, air flow testing, flatness testing, force testing, and rub and peel testing.

Both our Malaysian and Australian sites are certified under ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems and ISO 13485:2016 for medical device manufacturing, they are also certified under ISCC PLUS for sustainability in plastics production.  Our Johor site also holds ISO 14001:2015 certification for environmental management, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable practices.

Our Malaysian cleanroom facilities are another point of distinction. The entire production area is certified to ISO Class 8 standards, while our assembly production line operates within an ISO Class 7 cleanroom. These facilities are rigorously maintained, with monthly particle count monitoring in the production area and weekly monitoring in the assembly line. These consistent practices ensure that we meet and exceed the strict requirements of medical and high-precision manufacturing.

Serving global markets with Southeast Asian strength

While W&S Plastics Malaysia has a strong regional presence, supplying customers with medical, semiconductor transportation and storage products in Asia, we are also seeing growing demand from international markets. Customers from the United States and Europe are sourcing high-quality products from Southeast Asia, where they can benefit from a combination of excellent product standards, competitive pricing, and exceptional delivery performance.

People and expertise driving success

Behind our success is a dedicated and highly skilled team. W&S Plastics Malaysia employs 65 people, many of whom bring more than a decade of experience in plastic injection moulding. Our team’s expertise spans a wide range of technical areas, including tooling design and maintenance, contract manufacturing, metrology and measurement, and assembly order management.

We maintain a strong focus on continuous learning and professional development. Each year, we conduct a formal Training Needs Analysis, during which department heads assess the training priorities for their teams. Based on this analysis, management selects programs that align with Malaysian government requirements as well as our internal skill development goals.

Our Malaysian team also benefits from close collaboration with our Australian operations. W&S Plastics Australia provides ongoing support in areas such as business development, tooling design, computer hardware and software, and part metrology analysis and fixture design, ensuring a seamless sharing of knowledge and resources across borders.

A proven growth story

The story of our Malaysian site reflects our long-term vision for sustainable, strategic growth.  In September 2016, we launched our first Malaysian facility, beginning operations with five moulding machines and a single measurement machine for quality inspection. As orders increased, we expanded our capabilities steadily, adding more moulding machines, pad printing equipment, and other advanced systems.

Today, our Malaysian operations comprise two facilities within the I-Park Indahpura industrial zone, dedicated to full contract manufacturing services through our 13 moulding machines, two pad printing machines, two automation machines, a laser marking machine, and two measurement systems. This growth reflects our ability to meet evolving customer needs while maintaining the high standards that define our brand.

Commitment to Community and Sustainability

At W&S Plastics Malaysia, we believe that business success should be closely tied to community engagement. Our employees are actively involved in various CSR programs that support both local communities and the environment.

In July 2019, we organised a Malaysia Day program focused on caring for elderly individuals and children with disabilities, fostering bonds of goodwill between our employees and local welfare homes. In May 2020, we launched an Iftar donation program, providing meals to front-line healthcare workers at Hospital Sultan Ismail during the COVID-19 pandemic. In July 2024, our team participated in mangrove replanting and clean-up activities at the Tanjung Piai Johor National Park, contributing to vital conservation efforts.

Looking ahead, we are preparing for our next CSR initiative in August 2025: a hiking and clean-up activity at the scenic Gunung Pulai recreational forest. This program reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and team-building through meaningful community involvement.

W&S Plastics Malaysia has established itself as a centre of manufacturing excellence. Through advanced technology, rigorous quality control, a skilled and dedicated team, and a strong sense of corporate responsibility, we continue to grow and serve customers locally, regionally and around the world.
